The Kind of Bullshit You Hear

The kind of bullshit you hear
        from parsimonious old men
                who own ten rental properties,
exile their wives to Florida,
        bank their union pensions,
                hang around the park all afternoon
in clothes they’ve worn for thirty years
        rather than bag them for the church.
                Dante placed many such men in Hell,
not because they were markedly evil,
           but because their relationships with God
                   & their fellow citizens
sucked.
